The Gorgeous Gadwal Collective, showcasing a range of exquisitely handwoven cotton and silk cotton saris perfect for summer celebrations.

The Gadwal saree is a handcrafted saree style woven in Gadwal, Telangana. The gadwal weave was registered as one of GI tagged product of the region in 1992.

The Gadwal sarees are most notable for the Zari on the saris. The typical Gadwal sari consists of cotton body with silk pallu. However, there are pure silk variants being woven too that come with stunning color combinations and with a kuttu border. It is believed that the weave is so light that the saree can be packed in a matchbox :)

The highlight of the handloom craft from the town of Gadwal in Telangana is that the sarees feature bodies in very fine cotton, with contrast silk borders and pallus handwoven using a laborious interlock technique. This collection features the classic Gadwal sari as well as silk cottons with silk borders and pallus, all in delightfully bold and bright shades, featuring stripes, checks and striking contrasts of colour.

The annual Brahmostsava festival of Tirumala begins with the Gods idol being adorned with a Gadwal Saree.
